Notice to Manufacturing Industry Series Data Users:

We have revised and reissued previously released capital expenditures related data. We have determined that the method used to impute missing capital expenditures overstated total manufacturing capital expenditures by $18.1 billion or 12.5 percent and asset retirements by $5.8 billion or 6.8 percent; total ending assets and total depreciation were overstated by less than 1 percent. To adjust for the overstatement, assets, retirements, capital expenditures, and depreciation were reimputed. Revised data was reissued beginning January 27, 2005.
