Choosing a Data Set

Data within FactFinder are organized in data sets. FactFinder lists data sets by program areas and survey instances (the year the survey was conducted). They are the menu options you see as you move your mouse over the Data Sets link in the Left Navigation bar.

  • Decennial Censuses - 1990 and 2000
  • American Community Survey (ACS) - annually beginning with data for 2000. ACS data for 1996 -1999 are available via FTP.
  • Population Estimates - available in FactFinder for the most recently published year or years
  • Economic Censuses - 1997 and 2002
  • Annual Economic Surveys - available for selected surveys
To select a data set:
  1. Select a program from the Data Sets menu in the Left Navigation bar.
  2. Some Data Sets pages are organized by year; some are organized by survey. Select the tab for the year or survey of interest.
  3. Click the radio button next to the data set in which you are interested, and/or select from the list of hyperlinks presented for the selected data set.
