The Download Dialog Window displays.

  1. In the Download Dialog Window, select a format for the downloaded file:

    1. Select Use the data (e.g., in a spreadsheet or database) to download a comma-delimited file (CSV) that can be opened and manipulated in spreadsheet programs (e.g., Excel) and in most database programs.

      • Check the "Merge data and annotations in a single file" option for a single .csv file containing both data cells and annotations. Annotations are cell-level notes or substitute values that represent some special meaning for a table cell.
      • Check the "Include descriptive element names" option to include an additional row in the CSV file describing the meaning of the data in each column.
    2. Select View the data (e.g., as a presentable document) to download a presentation-ready format (PDF, XLS, or RTF). (Note that the XLS format has table titles, headers, and footers, and is meant for presentation. It is not as easy to manipulate in Excel as the comma-delimited format.)

If the "View the data" option is selected, choose the orientation for the download (portrait or landscape), and a paper size (8½" x 11" (letter) or 8½" x 14" (legal)).

Note: For more information about file types and formats, See 'Choosing a File Type ' in 'Downloading Overview '
